    Meet The Chef

South Philly native, Daniel Giorgio, grew up around the kitchen table filled with food from his Italian heritage. He remembers moments in his life, not by the events that happen but what was served! After high school, he headed off to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, where he learned the techniques to advance his native food. After culinary school, he trained in Orvieto, Italy, where he first learned of agriturismo(farm holidays). He loved the idea of teaching and learning in a relaxing and cozy environment. He knew he wanted to bring this concept to his city and thus was born Salt & Pepper. His professional experience includes working in Philly staples such as Barbuzzo, Amada, and Little Nonnas before branching out on his own. He aims to teach others what he has learned through his travels and experiences. He's not only interested in cooking food to make it taste good but takes inspiration from where it comes from and how it was taken care of.

Dorothy-

Chef Daniel was a great host. Our group had the option of being hands-on or just observe. I learned a new knife technique. His recipes were original and delicious. Thanks again chef Daniel for a great birthday event .

Cooking with Chef Daniel entertained all of our senses. As we prepared our  lunch we learned about using our knives along with other techiniques. The best part proved to be eating the delicious lunch with so many flavors, color, and textures. 5 stars for Chef  Daniel.
